My Chemical Romance are adamant that there was no concept behind their latest album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, but that the post-disaster world of 2019 in the artwork and videos, as well as the album commentary by pirate radio presenter Dr Death (played by Mindless Self Indulgence's Steve Righ?, MSI's Jimmy Urine also plays a Draculoid in the videos), were in fact built around the music afterwards. The Mad Gear and Missile Kid is yet another alter-ego of My Chemical Romance, alongside the rebel characters they already play in their non-concept-concept, and in this world of conformity Vs. expression The Mad Gear and Missile Kid EP is supposedly what the rebels are listening to on Dr. Death's show as they speed through the desert.
The EP artwork carries on the non-concept-concept with the cover featuring the Dead Pegasus logo from the Danger Days videos and the print on the reverse claiming to have been "manufactured in Battery City, CA, 2019." The CD print also has the Better Living Industries (they're the big corporation the rebels are fighting against) logo's crossed out and seemingly hand written info, including the date (11.23.19, or 23.11.19 for all the non-Americans) and the inscription "For Dr. D & Show Pony" (Dr. Death's sidekick played by Ricky Rebel). In reality the band have said that the three songs that make up the EP are basically just the songs that they didn't want to get rid of but that didn't make the album cut for reasons such as being too similar in sound or theme to songs that did.
The way that the songs have been placed into the non-concept-concept world fits the sound of them perfectly as they have a much dirtier quality to them (from mainly being but together using just the band's laptops) and have a punkier edgyness to them which coincides with the rebellion in the story. 'F.T.W.W.W.' (which stands for Fuck The Whole Wide World) continues the theme of conformity Vs. rebellion by talking about androids, fakes and lies, whilst including the good old fashioned rebel past time of spitting in the streets... lovely. 'Mastas of Ravenkroft' then ups the punk ante with a faster pace, inciting imagery of riot at a punk show, much like the one in MCR's Watchmen video for their cover of 'Desolation Row.' It also includes the repetition of "X-O" which My Chemical Romance, and their fans, are known for signing off with, or they may just be referencing that awe inspiring piece of modern culture, Gossip Girl?! The last song on the EP is 'Black Dragon Fighting Society' with it's double speed beat that sounds like it would be exhausting to perform live, which is possibly the reason it was not included on the main album in the first place? There is a little respite in the middle with the bass solo but the thrashing soon resumes, ending the song abruptly probably due to someone collapsing!
The main album is all about having fun and is basically just a party at the end of the world, but this EP is a full on riot which could storm venues around the world if My Chemical Romance's plans, to hopefully release a full length under The Mad Gear and Missile Kid alias and play as them in small venues on tour off days, come to fruition. Someone should probably warn them...

La forma en que las canciones se han colocado en el mundo unconsptual del-concepto se ajusta en sonido al de ellos perfectamente ya que tienen una calidad mucho más sucia que ellos (principalmente por que son solo ellos usando sus laptops) y tienen un ingeniero punkier con ellos para que coincida con la rebelión en la historia. 'F.T.W.W.W.' (Que significa Fuck The Whole Wide World) continúa el tema de la conformidad vs. rebelión hablando de falsos y mentirosos androides, incluyendo al mismo tiempo, el viejo rebelde, fashionista y pasado de moda con el que tiempo atras solias escupir las calles... el encantador. 'Mastas de Ravenkroft', entonces elevan el punk con un ritmo más rápido, incitando a las imágenes de los disturbios en un show de punk, al igual que en el de video de MCR para Watchmen el soundtrack de 'Desolation Row ". También incluye la transcripcion de "XO", que My Chemical Romance, y sus fans, como firma, o simplemente solo hacen referencia a ese pedazo imponente de la cultura moderna, de Gossip Girl?!. La última canción del EP es "La sociedad conbatiente del Dragon Negro" con su golpe doble de velocidad que parece que sería agotador para tocar en vivo, que es posiblemente la razón por la cual no se incluyó en el disco principal en primer lugar? Hay un pequeño respiro en el centro con el solo de bajo, pero la vuelve a golpear pronto, terminando abruptamente la canción, probablemente la quitaron para evitar que alguien colapsará!
