During the recording of the lost “ save yourself i´ll hold them back” album. So he grabbed a guitar and wrote “black dragon fighting society” a 90-second hardcore-punk rave up that reenergized his attitude. When he brought the song in for the rest of his band to hear, they were blow away and recorded it with the intention of putting it on the record. Soon they realized it simply didn,t fit within the context of what they were doing. “we were in such a creative stasis during the firs attempt at making the record” Way recalls. “we play black dragon, in the studio and i´d want to make a record of short, fast songs. I wanted to make a record to get away from the record we were making. I would say to ray ( toro ) please can we take three days and make this record.

During a break in the “save yourself” sessions, the band were playing the video game, final fight in studio lounge. Gerard notices there was a gang called the mad gear; he added the appendage Missile kid, and another My Chem alter ego was born. And with any creative venture Way initiates, there´s always a fantastic back story. “ i figured that if there was a nuclear or toxic event, there would still be music right?” he asks rhetorically. “ like in the movie Mad Max, there aren´t any band. People still like to make music; i have to imagine there´d be some fucking band rippping out there, just born out of total chaos” the band completed twoadditional post-glam / promo.punk songs. “ F:T:W:W:W: and Matas of Revenkroft” and issued them on the Mad Gear and Misile Kid, EP, which comes in the deluxe box set edition of danger days. “ we felt we could´ve used the tracks as B-sides or do something fun with them” says Way. “ so we did something fun”.

To maintain the spinoff´s urgency, Way wants to take five days to record a MG&MK full length ( 11 songs clocking in around 25 minutes ) and play select shows. he´s already designed some sweet cuting paste fliers ( pictured) “ i really miss playing guitar” he say, “ i´d like to do it live, but i´d never do it at a my chem show. So we can do Mad Gear on off-days.”

Durante un descanso en los periodos de secciones del "Save yourself”, la banda estaba jugando el juego de video, la lucha final en la sala de estudio. Cuando Gerard se percato de que havia una banda llamada “Mad Gear”,entonces el solo añadió el apéndice de Misille Kid, y otro alter Ego de My Chem habia nacido. Y con cualquier manera creativa de iniciar, siempre hay una historia de fondo excepcional. "Pensé que si había un evento nucleares o tóxico, seguiria estando la musica, cierto?", Se pregunta retóricamente. "Como en la película Mad Max, no hay ninguna banda. Pero la gente todavía quiere hacer música, tengo que imaginar que habría una banda una jodida banda corriendo por ahí, que acaba de nacer en medio del caos total ", la banda completo con dos temas post-glam / canciones promo.punk. llamadas "F: T: W: W: W: y Matas de Revenkroft" que complementaron el EP llamado Mad Gear and Missile Kid, que viene en la caja de lujo que se encuentra la edición especial de DANGER DAYS.
